Capture Screenshots of your iPhone or iPad Screen

How do you save a screenshot image of your iPhone, iPad or the iPod Touch screen?

Unlike your Windows or Mac computer, there are no screen capture apps available for your iOS device and you actually don’t need one because the screen capture functionality in built right into your device.

To save a screenshot image of your mobile screen, press and hold the Home button that is located at the bottom center of the device (you often use this button to exit the app and return to the home screen).

While the home button is down,  press the Sleep (or Wake) button located on the opposite edge of the phone. The screen will flash momentarily,  you’ll also hear a click sound and the content of the current screen will be saved as a new image in your Photo Gallery.

Do remember that the same key combination will reset your iPhone if you press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least 10 seconds.

Although, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have moved the sleep/wake button to a new location, however this screenshot function is still feasible and easy to use as ever.

  1. Display anything you want to snap on your iPhone 6 screen.

  2. Simply press and hold the “Home” button and then press the “Sleep/Wake” button. Once it’s done, you will hear a camera shutter which signifies that a screenshot is successfully taken.

  3. Once a screenshot is captured, it will be automatically saved to your iPhone 6 Camera Roll. Thus you can head to your Camera roll and check the screenshot you have just taken. And then you can set it as wallpaper, share it via text messages, social networks like Facebook/Twitter, or edit it with the default photo editing app.

Tips: the sleep/wake button on iPhone 6 has been moved from the top of the iPhone to the right side.
